Taking our smart city initiative to new heights, Fremont was recently featured as the only North American location for IBM’s Call for Code Challenge. In partnership with 42 Silicon Valley, the City itself was the subject of this hackathon, which tackled a topic very near and dear to our hearts — disaster preparedness. Innovating through the use of technology is a critical part of any city’s emergency preparedness and resiliency agenda. Collaborations like Call for Code allow us to accelerate the adoption of potentially life-saving applications.
