Over the past few months, we have witnessed our residents enthusiastically support the small businesses that call Fremont home in a variety of ways. This community enthusiasm has translated to our Gift Fremont program, which enables members of the public to purchase eGift Cards on the Yiftee-powered platform from participating Fremont-based vendors, including independent restaurants and retail stores that we have all come to know and love, while receiving an extra bonus amount courtesy of the City of Fremont.

The program has dramatically taken off since its launch – so much so, that 75% of the initial funds set aside for the program have already been put to use by Gift Fremont participants and community members.

That’s why timing couldn’t be better for Gift Fremont to receive an infusion of funds from Seagate Technology, one of the leading technology companies that has made Fremont home. Today, the company generously contributed $5,000 to the Gift Fremont program in support of our local small business community. It’s the actions of public-private partnerships like these that enable Fremont to be the resilient city that it is. As so many of our small businesses have been adversely impacted by COVID-19, these funds are a helpful boost to a program designed to stimulate the local economy and provide much needed economic relief.

Seagate’s strong desire to support the small business community that surrounds them led the company to get in contact with City officials and coordinate the contribution.

As the program grows, each additional contribution from both corporate sponsors and individual community members helps our business ecosystem recover from the pandemic.

“We are beyond excited about the growth of Gift Fremont, especially in their recent Seagate sponsorship,” said Donna Novitsky, CEO and co-founder, Yiftee. “Small business relief is the collective responsibility of all members of a community, and it’s inspiring to see Seagate take up an active role in bettering the city they call home. In creating this clever approach to small business relief, the City of Fremont exemplifies the power of community and eGifting. We are proud of the work they’ve done to keep local dollars local!”

Check Out Gift Fremont: Corporate Partnerships Supporting Small Business Relief

Though the past few months have been difficult, they have also shown the incredible compassion that makes individual local communities across the country so special. From chambers to corporations, everyone has been a part of making sure that we come out of COVID-19 the right way — together. In this spirit, to help the 70 (and growing!) communities that we power, Yiftee has waived merchant fees through September 30th. When community members, local government, small businesses, and large corporate employers come together, the Yiftee eGift card has the potential to transform a community.

See the power of local gifting first-hand with Gift Fremont, a program launched by the City of Fremont to provide relief to local, independently owned businesses. In just four weeks, Gift Fremont has generated over $6,000 for 30 of Fremont’s small businesses. That’s not all.
