The City of Fremont and Ohlone College, in partnership with Eden Area America’s Job Center of California (AJCC), Mission College, Peralta Community College District, and Tri-Valley Career Center, are hosting a career fair on Friday, April 24, from 1 to 2 p.m. PT on Zoom. The event will feature presentations from two local manufacturing powerhouses – Enovix and Evolve Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. – that together are seeking to hire more than 300 technical and non-technical roles.

Open positions that will be featured at the career fair include: equipment technician, equipment engineer, process engineer, characterization and failure analysis manager, supply chain and procurement manager, and head of people operations, along with hundreds of others.

This event is designed to foster growth within the Fremont community and will be facilitated by Tina Kapoor, Economic Development Manager of the City of Fremont, and Harshdeep Singh Nanda, Employer & Entrepreneurship Advisor of Ohlone College, a leading institution for top biotech talent in the Bay Area. The two will moderate discussions with Enovix and Evolve and oversee questions from the chat box during the one-hour fair. Once presentations and questions have concluded, the employers will share their contact information. Attendees can then follow up with them to ask additional questions and/or provide a resume, if they are on the proper channel.

The biotech landscape is currently in overdrive to address a nationwide need for medical supplies to test and treat those infected with COVID-19. More than a handful of our 115 resident biotech companies have already stepped up in response. Backed by Fremont’s localized biotech ecosystem that connects manufacturers to the supply chain and top talent, these companies have been able to increase production of test kits, masks, and ventilators necessary to fight this pandemic.
